Sister Joan Evans was 60 years old when she moved from Perth, Australia to Bangkok’s largest slum to serve the poor in 1991. She worked tirelessly 7 days a week for years and showed us the power of compassion and care for fellow humans. She inspired volunteers who kept coming, many of them for years. You can read more about Sister Joan here
This website is dedicated to her Mission that is still going, 34 years on. Sister Joan started the Milk Run in 1992 in response to high mortality of newborns and babies at that time. The Rice Run was organized as a group effort in 2002, after years of supporting different households and seeing that Klong Toei seniors needed help in getting basic food items. The focus of Presentation Sisters order is education so in 2019 we started a new program called the School Run that supports registered students in completing university education.
