The Rice Run project serves the elderly, typically over 60 years old, often living alone. This program started in late 1990s as a donation of rice to the needy and evolved in early 2000s into a more substantial help to registered recipients. Every 2 weeks, they receive a 5kg bag of rice, dried pork, a bottle of fish sauce and a bottle of cooking oil. Often, we will add more items donated by different individuals or organizations.

As had been the new routine, we bought all of our donation items at Makro and then drive to the Klong Toei market for dried pork we include in food package for the registered seniors.
In the afternoon, The team got together to distribute food in Rong Moo community. 67 of the seniors showed up to collect. Here are more photos…

What an amazing record! ❤️ On this beautiful Friday, we gave out 68 bags of food support for the seniors of Rong Moo and Suan Ooy communities. As always, each person got 5kg of rice, a bottle of cooking oil, a bottle of fish sauce that they love to cook with and a bag of dried pork that should provide enough protein for 2 weeks.

This Friday I did the shopping by myself and left the loaded truck at Boss. Servane, May, Janna and others showed up at 3pm to pack the individual bags and deliver the truck to Rong Moo community of Klong Toei

We had a new volunteer come and join the Mission work today, a lovely Israeli man intent on changing the world. What a wonderful breath of fresh air!
We finished our Rice and Milk Run supplies shopping so fast, we had time to sit down for a Thai lunch and a beer. Later on, Servane and her team came to pack up the bags and give away 68 of them in Rong Moo.
Yvonne joined me for the shopping part of this Rice Run. It was lovely to spend time together, like we used to do years ago.
In the afternoon, Servane led as usual. She and other volunteers meet at Boss Manson at 3, packed all the product into individual bags and delivered it to Rong Moo for distribution. They gave away 68 packages and took the following photos….
Out last event of 2021 – not a day too soon! 2021 was a very hard year and it is nice to see it go, I think everyone would agree with that… Martel & David joined and so did Josie and I also found time to come and help them.
68 Thais collected their biweekly food packages and for New Year we added a box of face masks, a bottle of hand sanitizer and a pack of chocolates to make their lives a little sweeter. Here are more pics…
