Sister Cecilia drive from Ratchaburi and Adri and Miron also joined to help with another annual registration for the Rice Run good assistance program.

Sister Joan started giving good items to elderly in the early 1990s but by 2001 she was helping so many that it needed to be based on registration and bi weekly food deliveries. In 2011 we were helping 120 seniors and this attendance number has been steadily trending down.

Until this year when the number of registered Thai seniors actually rose up, from 58 last year to 63 this time.

The criteria remains the same: only seniors from Rong Moo and Suan Ooy communities, over 60 years old and with no means to support themselves qualified. We asked them all to bring their electric bills as a proof of how much they can afford to pay and visited a number of them to make sure they really need help.

We ended up with 63 people we will give rice, cooking oil, fish sauce and pork for the next 12 months.
