Back on regular schedule and with Sister Joan’s truck running so smoothly, we had a wonderful Rice Run on the 6th.
Hiroko and Crystal came to help on the shopping trip and made it look so easy.
We left the car loaded and ready in Rong Moo. In the afternoon, Claire was joined by first time volunteers Penny, Michi and Gabriel.
They distributed 57 sets of rice, oil, fish sauce and pork to our registered Thai seniors. Here are more pics!
Yvonne introduced me to Sister Joan many years ago and it is always very special when she joins to help. Adri came, as always on time.
We gave out 12 packets of milk formula and registered two new babies to the program.

I picked up Sister’s truck from Nissan Service and drove straight to Bus Terminal Eastern to meet with Michi. We continued to Makro where Miron came to meet us and help with the shipping.
Claire, Shannon and Crystal delivered our food packages in the afternoon to all 58 of our registered Thai seniors. Another successful event!
When I stopped off Sister Joan’s old car for the repair, I forgot to take the Boss Mansion storage key off of the car key chain.
So our Sep 15 Milk Run actually took place on Sep 16, a Saturday morning. Shockingly, all the mom’s showed up, both in Rong Moo and Suan Ooy communities. I delivered 11 packs of milk formula in each neighborhood.
Sister Joan’s old Nissan truck broke down during the Sep 8th rice and milk shopping trip. On Sep 13 I met a tow truck at the Convent of Sacred Heart and he’d him tow to the Nissan Service Center on Petchaburi Rd.
The car is actually from 2001 – 22 years old this December! It has been purchased by Meghan, an Australian volunteer who run Bangkok marathon to raid the funds and get Sister Joan a brand new truck. It is still serving us well since I picked it up on September 22nd.
This was a Rice Run to remember. Sister Cecilia came to help and so did 3 new volunteers.
But our 22 year old truck couldn’t make it today so we had to leave it at the Sacred Heart Convent.
We split into two groups, Hiroko and I went and got my truck and Sister Cecilia took the other two volunteers to Makro and started the shopping trip.
In the end, it all worked well because Shannon brought her big car and loaded up all the supplies we left at Boss storage room.

The morning shopping was easy as Sa came to help out.

As usual, we met at the Bus Terminal (Eastern) and drove into Rong Moo at 7am sharp.
